Moon-Venus-Mercury Triangle

On the morning of the 29th of May 2003 local time - the moon's thin cresent (with earthshine on its dark face ) and the inner planets Venus (the brightest dot) and Mercury, formed an exquisite apparent visual triangle.

The event lasted nearly two hours into dawn. The celestrial trio was made even more surreal, by the fact there were no bright stars in their immediate vicinity. This resulted in more three D'ness to the view, we think anyway.
