C/2001 Q4 (NEAT)

10 minute wide field photo containing a small blue dot a.k.a. comet C/2001 Q4 NEAT. Taken at 12:50 am on the 22nd march 2004 local time, from near Mt Pleasant, in very windy conditions. Comet is located at left of centre. Mighty globular cluster 47 Tucanae is brightest object at very top left of image. Comet is at around 6 degrees from horizon in photo.

Another 10 min exposure of comet Q4 NEAT, this time at 19:25 26th march 2004 UT. Image has had some over the top processing done to bring out nearly 2 degree faint ion tail and other features, and then inverted. SMC and 47 Tucanae to the left.
