Total Solar Eclipse Dec 4th 2002

It is often said that photos do not do justice to a Total Solar Eclipse, and we have to agree after seeing this eclipse ( our first eclipse ). But here they are anyway, we didnt waste too much of the precious 29 secs of totality taking these. Note the shadow cone is present in pic, an awesome sight in real life!! - 4 sec exp.

Second diamond ring. All these shots were taken near the centreline on the Stuart Highway, South Australia. These first two photos were taken with a 105mm lens with fuji 800 speed film. Most of these shots have been cropped to some degree, but have not been altered in any other way.

Totality, there are not sufficient words in the english language to describe a total eclipse. You are left elated and grinning and wanting more, lets just say. We now know what all the fuss is about, but it was even better than you expect ( and we expected a lot ).
